Frank Edoho and Lateef Adedimeji have been announced as the hosts of the seventh Bodex Social Media Hangout. The television presenter and Nollywood actor are due to take part in the student-focused gathering on 10 December at the Distance Learning Institute Hall of the University of Lagos in Akoka. The host announcement was reported on 3 November.

The date and main programme were already public in October. This week’s development is the naming of the two hosts, rather than the first announcement of the event. Convener Bodex Hungbo says the pairing is intended to bring together knowledge, creativity, confidence and storytelling. These are the organiser’s aims for a future gathering, not an assessment of an event that has happened.

Organisers expect more than 3,000 students from secondary schools and tertiary institutions. They plan debates, quizzes and digital-media masterclasses, alongside interactive games and certificates of participation. The expected audience is a planning figure. It does not establish how many people have registered, how many places remain or how many will attend in December.

The announced competition prize pool is ₦2.2 million: ₦1 million for first place, ₦700,000 for second and ₦500,000 for third. Those three amounts add up to the stated total. They are prizes for winning positions in the competition, not payments promised to each student who attends or completes a registration form.

The organiser’s registration page confirms that registration is free and lists 10 December and the UNILAG venue. Its form asks for a name, email address, telephone number, attendee type and school or organisation. The page does not display a closing date. No application deadline should be inferred from the date of the latest host announcement.

What it means for you. Students considering the event can start with the organiser’s own registration page and check the competition rules before preparing an entry. Free registration and a possible competition prize are separate things. The advertised certificate records participation; the announcement does not describe it as a university qualification or guarantee employment after the gathering.
