A reason behind
every choice.
Online research. Clear comparisons. Honest limits.
We search online, examine official business information and compare the published evidence relevant to each guide. Every position is an editorial judgement within the researched selection, not a claim that every business in Nigeria has been assessed.
How first, second and third are chosen
- Relevance to the guide: how directly the stated cuisine, service or specialism matches the reader’s need.
- Specificity of the offering: how clearly the source explains the experience or service available.
- Practical information: location, coverage, menus, services, booking or contact routes.
- Evidence readers can check: direct source links and a stated research date.
These criteria are applied qualitatively. We do not publish numerical scores or use public-review averages as if they were our own customer research. Restaurant rankings do not measure taste; contractor rankings do not certify workmanship or financial standing.
What this first edition includes
Online source research completed on 6 November 2026. No first-hand visits, customer interviews, representative surveys or independent performance tests were carried out for this edition. Some business claims may not be independently corroborated. We state limitations instead of filling gaps with assumptions.
Listening to people
We invite readers to share first-hand experiences and businesses to submit factual corrections. Reader submissions are not automatically treated as verified facts or added to rankings. We will identify future editions informed by verified interviews or feedback, rather than claiming those conversations already happened.
Sponsorship and relationships
Paid advertising must be labelled. Sponsorship does not buy an undisclosed editorial position. Our publisher provides marketing/web services to JMG Limited; this relationship is disclosed on relevant pages. JMG is not given a paid first-place ranking.
