Dining arrangements are changing at several Kruger National Park camps after new restaurant appointments announced by SANParks on 12 October. The agency says the process followed competitive tendering and the expiry of previous concession agreements, with refurbishment accompanying the change.
At Lower Sabie, the former Mugg & Bean is to become Sabie River Café. Pretoriuskop's Wimpy will become Le Lapeng Burgers and Grill, while Berg-en-Dal's Tindlovu Restaurant is being replaced by Eziko Eatery. These are separate camp-specific changes.
Cattle Baron at Skukuza is also scheduled for refurbishment. The announcement describes a refreshed appearance there, rather than listing it among the restaurants receiving new names. Keeping those details separate helps visitors understand which change applies to their camp.
SANParks says temporary dining facilities with limited menus will operate during refurbishment periods. This offers a measure of continuity, while indicating that the full usual restaurant experience may be different during the transition. The release does not publish a universal completion date for all sites.
For visitors with existing plans, the relevant detail is the arrangement at the particular camp and time of their stay. A park-wide announcement cannot establish which menu, dining space or completed facility will be available on an individual date.
The appointments show concession renewal translating into changes people will encounter during a visit. The immediate practical story is therefore both the new dining concepts and the temporary service offered while work proceeds. Any later assessment of food quality or visitor satisfaction will require evidence beyond the appointment announcement.
