Visitors heading to Skukuza Rest Camp in Kruger National Park during November 2026 will need to account for a temporary entrance change. SANParks announced on October 26 that the camp's main gate would close from Monday, November 2, until Friday, December 4, for essential maintenance.

The work concerns repairs to the gate's roof structure. The notice identifies the Skukuza Rest Camp main gate specifically, so it should not be read as a closure of the whole camp or all entrances to Kruger National Park.

The temporary approach will use Hippo Circle Street. SANParks describes this as the road towards the Skukuza medical doctor or surgery, with access through AM Spa and Skukuza Safari Lodge. These named landmarks distinguish the temporary route from the usual main-gate approach.

Visitors are asked to follow directional signs and instructions from park staff. That guidance applies to the movement of both vehicles and pedestrians. The official notice supplies a route description but does not publish a detailed traffic timetable or promise a particular journey time.

SANParks places the project within its continuing infrastructure-management programme, intended to maintain the safety and working condition of park facilities. The announcement is advance notice of planned work; it does not report that repairs have already been completed or that the gate has reopened.

For travellers, the practical information is therefore the affected gate, the November 2–December 4 window and the temporary approach via Hippo Circle Street. Any later change to those arrangements should come from an updated park notice or staff directions on arrival.
